ABOUT US
MEETINGSThe Executive Board meets 4 times per year on the 3rd Sunday of February, May, August and November at the Research Center, located in the Litchfield Museum & Route 66 Welcome Center. The November Executive Board meeting will be followed by a membership meeting and election of officers. Programs, workshops, and field trips will be scheduled as desired by the board.
MCGS RESEARCH CENTERThe MCGS Research Center is located within the Litchfield Museum & Route 66 Welcome Center, 334 N Historic Route 66, Litchfield, IL. The Research Center is free and open to the public during regular posted hours.
ACQUISITIONSDonated items, exchange quarterlies, manuscripts, etc. become the property of the Montgomery County Genealogical Society and are placed in the MCGS Research Center for research purposes. Research materials are not available for loan.
QUARTERLYThe Montgomery County Genealogical Society Quarterly is digitally sent to all members in good standing. Late renewals and new members receive back issues for the current year. Quarterlies are published February, May, August, and November. Members are invited and encouraged to submit genealogical material to the Quarterly Editor for publication. Material should be properly documented, and credit will be given to the author/submitter. The Editor reserves the right to accept or reject any material submitted and reserves the right to edit. The Society assumes no responsibility for errors of fact or opinions made by the author. In case of error, we will gladly print a correction in the next quarterly. All submissions must include written permission to print by the submitter.
MEMBERSHIP DUES & PUBLICATIONS PURCHASEForms can be downloaded from the society website at www.mcgsil.com. The MCGS year runs from January 1 to December 31 each year. Members in arrears after February 1 shall not receive a quarterly until dues are paid.
